WonderShelf Privacy Policy
Short version: WonderShelf does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. The only information saved is your child's first name, age, and saved paintings — and it stays on the device.
What we collect
Inside the app we ask for, and locally store:
- First name — typed by the caregiver during setup, used only to greet the reader.
- Age — used only to choose the age-banded bookshelf.
- Setup date — used so the shelf can age with the reader over time.
- Reading progress + bookmarks — local-only, so the app can resume on the right page.
- Finger paintings the reader makes — local-only.
What we don't collect
We do not collect, transmit, or have access to:
- No advertising identifiers, IDFA, or IDFV.
- No analytics events (no Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Sentry, etc.).
- No third-party advertising SDKs (no AdMob, no Facebook Audience Network, etc.).
- No location data, no contacts, no photos library access, no microphone.
- No network traffic from inside the app to any server we control — there is no server.
Sign in with Apple
If you choose Sign in with Apple, Apple issues an opaque identifier to the app. WonderShelf uses it only to identify the local profile on this device. The identifier is not transmitted anywhere off-device. If you'd rather not use Sign in with Apple, choose Use private local shelf at onboarding.
In-App Purchases
The optional WonderShelf Library Unlock is a one-time $14.99 in-app purchase processed entirely by Apple's StoreKit. WonderShelf does not see your payment details. Family Sharing is enabled so any member of your Apple Family group can use the unlock.
Children's Privacy (COPPA, GDPR-K)
WonderShelf is designed for the Kids 6–8 age band on the App Store and complies with the Kids Category guidelines. We do not collect personal information from children under 13. The on-device first name and age are not personal data we have access to — they live only in the app's private storage on the device.
Deleting your data
Open WonderShelf → tap the Profile button on the bookshelf → tap Delete WonderShelf Account & Local Data → confirm. This removes the first name, age, and every saved finger painting from the device. Because we keep nothing on a server, this completes the deletion.
Changes
If this policy ever changes materially, we'll update this page and bump the date below.
